Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan Update
The Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA), in partnership with the Sacramento Transportation Authority, has received a Sustainable Communities Competitive Planning conditional grant award from Caltrans to update the 2020 Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan—a multimodal corridor plan developed with regional and local partners. The grant award is for $520,000, with the total project cost at $650,000. The PCTPA grant application is available at: https://www.pctpa.net/rfp-rfq.
PCTPA expects to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) in November 2025 (subject to change), with project work beginning in January 2026 and anticipated completion by October 2026. The grant expires June 30, 2028. The 2020 Gateway Plan is available for reference here.
The Gateway Plan Update represents a collaborative, forward-thinking planning approach to support the region's MTP/SCS by prioritizing sustainability, equity, multimodal solutions, and corridor performance to create a balanced transportation system —aligning with SB 1 program goals.
