Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to prepare a Feasibility Study that will identify and evaluate light, medium, and heavy-duty truck charging facilities in the vicinity of the I-80/SR 65 Interchange, as well as high-level evaluation of hydrogen fueling potential. The Feasibility Study will include analyzing truck charging/hydrogen fueling demand, electrical grid capacity, potential sites, and potential business models. The Feasibility Study will also include analyzing ingress/egress to a site within the Phase 2 Interchange footprint and how it conforms to Caltrans design standards. The RFP also allows for future PA&ED work associated with identified sites. Further details are included in the attached RFP.

Proposers shall submit one copy of the Proposal in Adobe PDF format, which can either be mailed via a USB drive to PCTPA’s offices located at 299 Nevada Street, Auburn, CA 95603, or e-mailed to Rick Carter by 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. The package label or e-mail subject line shall state “I-80/SR 65 Interchange Truck Charging Feasibility Study and PA&ED”.

The RFP deadline is firm. Late proposals will not be accepted.

It is expected that a contract will be awarded in April 2023, with work to commence shortly thereafter.

All proposals, whether selected or rejected, shall become the property of PCTPA upon submittal. PCTPA reserves the right to award all or portions of this contract as described in the RFP.
