Cory Peterson joined the PCTPA team as a Senior Transportation Planner in August 2022. He brings nearly six years of experience in long range planning, transportation fund management, active transportation planning, and grant writing. Cory primarily works on PCTPA's long range planning efforts (such as the Regional Transportation Plan), serves as lead for active transportation planning (i.e., biking and pedestrian projects), and manages the agency's Transportation Development Act (TDA) funding programs. Born and raised in Northern California, he started out his career at the Solano Transportation Authority in his hometown of Suisun City. He then spent three years in Austin, Texas as a transportation planner for TJKM, before returning home to Northern California to be close to his family and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Cory has been passionate about transportation since childhood and loves working in the field because he believes that providing a multi-modal transportation system that equitably serves all residents directly benefits a community's quality of life, which is the mission that PCTPA seeks to fulfill. When not working on a transportation project, Cory loves to hike, geocache, watch sports (baseball, college football, and hockey), and take day trips with his wife throughout the Northern California region. His favorite place to visit in Placer County is North Lake Tahoe, where he has fond childhood memories of visiting with his family.

Cory can be reached at (530) 823-4032 or cpeterson@pctpa.net.
