The SPRTA fee program began in 2002 to fund approximately $124.9 million for regional transportation projects. In fall 2006, the SPRTA fees were amended to reflect current construction cost estimates and updated land use projections for the South Placer region, resulting in the SPRTA fee program funding $153.03 million in transportation improvements in South Placer. In 2007, the SPRTA traffic impact fee program was updated to include additional roadway improvment projects in an effort to fund over $191million in transportation projects. A 2009 update to the SPRTA traffic impact fee program is currently underway. Changes to the fee program or allocations of fees require unanimous vote of all four members of the SPRTA Board of Directors. The latest SPRTA Impact Fees can be found here. The SPRTA fee area is divided into 10 fee districts, with fees calculated on a nexus-basis via the South Placer traffic model. Fees are assessed on all development, including residential, commercial, and industrial. A map of the SPRTA Fee Districts:
